Jessica Lyons began her professional career as an architect, studying architecture at the Royal College of Art, London Metropolitan University, and the University of Brighton, where she was awarded the prestigious Morgan Carn Award for Design Excellence.

She spent over five years at David Kohn Architects, one of London’s leading architecture firms. There, Jessica led the practice’s arts sector, working on major projects for some of the UK's most renowned cultural institutions, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, Royal Academy of Arts, Wellcome Collection, Whitechapel Gallery, and Waddington Custot. One of her standout projects, the V&A Photography Centre, was named The Times Interior of the Year 2018.

Jessica also led significant commercial and residential developments, including a £5.5 million creative studio buildings as part of the Greenwich Design District, and a £1.8 million three-tiered residential penthouse extension in the heart of Holborn, London.

In November 2021, she founded her own architecture practice, Studio Lyons, through which she has delivered numerous large-scale residential and commercial projects across the UK and Spain.

Jessica is listed on the RIBA Conservation Register after completing the RIBA Conservation Course, and has also earned the Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings, qualifying her to deliver Retrofit Design Approvals from 2023.

In Summer 2025, after completing the Retrofit Academy Retrofit Design Course, Jessica launched Retrofit Approvals, a dedicated service committed to high-quality, regulation-compliant retrofit design.
